What a cute book! Avery Shaw is a bit of a nerd and when she gets her heart broken, she turns the experience into a science project, theorizing that she’ll go through seven stages of grief before overcoming her heartache. Grayson, her partner in the project, is running his own little experiment on the side, planning to help Avery get over his younger brother and make her fall in love with him.
The story alternates between Avery’s and Grayson’s point of view and is wonderfully written, with great touches of humor. When Avery finally resolves her issues with Grayson’s brother, it looks like Grayson’s out of the love picture and looking at a failed science project. I won’t tell you which brother gets the girl, but the ending is a blockbuster romantic finale that takes place in front of a large audience at the Science Fair. Great stuff from Kelly Oram!
