Yesterday I received an email from a reader who wanted to know about gargoyle babies so I thought I’d share my answer to her, here at my website.
When gargoyles are born, they certainly do have wings sprouting from their backs, between their shoulder blades. In fact, gargoyle babies are a little easier to deliver than human babies because their wings are wrapped around their arms inside the womb, keeping everything in a neat little package on the way out. The wings are quite small to begin with and it will take the baby about a year before he can fold them away into a vest by himself. Until then, his parents help him to fold them away when needed (when they’re going out in public where humans might see him).
